NKY Tri-ED and Board Member Kimberly Rossetti hosted the Board of Directors of the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the European American Chamber of Commerce (EACC) for our first meeting of 2023 at the NKY Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, January 25.
New Board President Nelly Bonniol welcomed all, thanking her newly installed fellow Board Officers (Vice President Antonio Pagano, Treasurer Mike Dektas and Secretary Cierra Clymer before introducing new board members Joren Knockaert (Deceuninck), Steve Melink (Melink), Hans Philippo (Holland Roofing), Andrea Pirondini (Prysmian Group), Joshua Smith (City of Hamilton) and Samantha Wagner (Greater Cincinnati Foreign Trade Zones).
Executive Director Schwartz provided a brief recap of our performance in 2022, noting that we had successfully stepped up our game in terms of programming and executive engagement and kept administrative costs well under control (nearly 30% under budget.) However, underperformance on new member attraction resulted in an overall operating loss.
Bonniol then reviewed the 2023 strategic plan (first presented at the October 2022 Board meeting), underscoring again the importance of stabilizing our P&L, and growing our membership through steps to better define our value proposition and adjust our membership structure.
The Board then reviewed and approved the 2023 draft budget (as recommended by the EACC Executive Committee.) It then went into a brief executive session to discuss personnel matters.
Note that this is only an informal summary of the meeting for informational purposes. The formal meeting minutes will be available to any EACC member upon request once they have been approved by the Board at its next meeting in April 2023.
