On February 5, 2007, the Inaugural Gala of the European American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cincinnati was held at the Kingsgate Marriott at the University of Cincinnati. Over three hundred guests gathered to celebrate the occasion, including a proclamation from then-Mayor Mark Mallory declaring the date as “European American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cincinnati Day” and a speech by Barry Eccleston, the President and CEO of Airbus North America.
In the fifteen years since, we’ve had numerous Board Presidents and two Executive Directors, members have come and gone, and business conditions have ebbed and flowed – oh, and we also had a global pandemic! In addition our network has expanded to include chapters in New York, Lyon, the Carolinas, the Netherlands, Florida, and Texas (in addition to our ‘mother chapter’ in Paris). But through it all, we remain focused on our mission of “Stimulating Business and Networking Relations Between the Cincinnati Tri-State Region and Europe.”
Your Executive Committee met on Friday to look at strategic plans for the remainder of this year as well as goals for the next two and five years – and I’m pleased to report that we’re optimistic and enthusiastic not just about our growth prospects but about the opportunity to create more value for our members. Good things lie ahead!
Dayna, Claudia and I are grateful for your support and engagement – and we look forward to many more years of success!
