JobsOhio Q1 Board Meeting

Business Leaders and Community Stakeholders,

As we accelerate into 2025, Ohio continues to build on "Super Sector" opportunities fueled by a new wave of transformative investments, record-breaking rankings, and clear strategies for sustaining our momentum and growth. Our recent JobsOhio Q1 Public Board Meeting highlighted these achievements and outlined our path forward.

Governor DeWine emphasized our strong public-private alignment, highlighting the 15-year extension of the JobsOhio Beverage System, securing the stable funding that allows JobsOhio to compete, win and manage megaproject deals that bring jobs and capital investments to Ohio.

Lieutenant Governor Tressel, in his first JobsOhio board meeting, reinforced workforce development as critical to Ohio's future, emphasizing deeper collaboration between industry and education.

Earlier this week, Ohio secured the #3 ranking nationally for both total economic development projects and projects per capita in Site Selection’s 2025 Governor’s Cup rankings, making us the only state consistently in the top five over the past seven years.

Looking ahead, our JobsOhio 2030 strategy builds on our proven model and further leverages Ohio's unique strengths: fully realizing our "Silicon Heartland," capturing opportunities in the $1.8 trillion global AI market, and catalyzing Ohio’s innovation economy through our Innovation Districts in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus and our innovation hubs across the state.

Workforce availability remains our top challenge, and JobsOhio is already taking action, investing nearly $700 million across strategic talent initiatives to ensure Ohio businesses have access to the skilled talent they need.
